Candace Crabtree joined the MIT staff in January of 2016 and is in her third year as the Associate Director of DAPER Annual Leadership Giving Programs in 2018-19. She came to MIT from Wentworth Institute of Technology, where she was the Director of Annual Giving and was responsible for developing and implementing a strategic annual giving program. She also served for three and a half years as the Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving at Mount Ida College where she directed fundraising programs and alumni relations for over 26,000 constituents.
Before her position in alumni relations at Mount Ida, Crabtree also had roles at the school in alumni fundraising outreach, as an assistant professor of sports management and as head women’s basketball coach. In all, Crabtree served in the women’s basketball coaching profession for 18 years before moving into alumni relations and fundraising. In addition to Mount Ida, she also held the head coaching position at Drexel University and Rowan University, with her Rowan teams making five trips to the NCAA Tournament and producing five All-Americans. Crabtree has also served as an assistant on the staffs of the University of Northern Colorado, Mansfield University and the College of William and Mary.
