Becca Shaw enters her fourth season as an assistant coach with the MIT field hockey program. A multi-sport athlete at Middlebury College, the post is her first at the intercollegiate level as she previously served as an assistant coach for the Winsor School (Mass.) varsity girls ice hockey team.
A four-year goalie and co-captain for the Panthers' field hockey team, Shaw helped her squad advance to the finals of the 2011 NCAA Tournament and finished her career ranking third in program history for goals against average (1.21). She carried over her success in the net to Middlebury's ice hockey team which was two-time NCAA semifinalists and three-time NESCAC champions. Shaw also appeared between the pipes for the women's lacrosse squad during her sophomore campaign.
Shaw graduated from Middlebury in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a minor in sociology. She currently works in two programs at Boston Children's Hospital, serving as an administrative associate for Advocating Success for Kids in addition to being a coordinator for Reach Out and Read.
