To all of our supporters of the Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER), I hope that you and your family are safe and healthy during this extremely challenging time.
As the world faces the current Covid-19 pandemic, DAPER and MIT remain committed to providing opportunities for the continued growth and development for our student-athletes, which is made possible by the generosity of our alumni and donors. Over the past several months, our coaches and staff have been working diligently to support our student-athletes, implement fall programming to keep them engaged with their teams, and develop strategies that ensure a stronger DAPER once the virus passes. Although it has been challenging to support our student-athletes while they are navigating distance learning, we know we have made the right decisions to not only ensure their safety and well-being, but that of the entire MIT community. In true MIT fashion, we are problem solvers and thrive in the midst of adversity. Once it is safe for us to resume our sports seasons and we are all back together again, I am confident that we will continue competing for conference, regional and national championships.
Throughout all areas of DAPER, we are continuing to push forward with an eye towards the future. We are extremely appreciative of your support during the 2019-20 academic year and are excited to have you on board for this year. Our goal is to set the gold standard of excellence across Division III and nationally and that would not be possible without your generosity.
