  • Men's Basketball Lands Five on NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

    A league-leading five members of the MIT men’s basketball team have been named to the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference Team. Overall, 21 men’s basketball student-athletes were honored across the conference.
  • Masys Named to CoSIDA Men's Basketball Academic All-District Team

    MIT men’s basketball sophomore Matas Masys (Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) has been named to the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, as selected by the regional athletic communications directors. The Academic All-District program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
  • Anderson Named as MIT ADID and Chair of DAPER Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee

    MIT men’s basketball head coach/associate professor Larry Anderson has been named as the MIT athletics diversity and inclusion designee (ADID), as announced by Dr. G. Anthony Grant, MIT Director of Athletics/DAPER Department Head. In this role, Anderson will be the point of communication between the NCAA National Office, the MIT athletic department and the campus when information around inclusive programs, emerging diversity issues and other related initiatives need to be shared.
  • 2020 Basketball Academy at MIT Cancelled, Rescheduled for August 14-15, 2021

    Cambridge, Mass. (July 17) -- The 2020 Basketball Academy at MIT, which is conducted by the MIT men’s basketball program, has been cancelled for this summer. Originally scheduled for August 8-9, 2020, the event will now take place on August 14-15, 2021.

    Cambridge, Mass. (July 2) -- The MIT men’s basketball program has announced its incoming recruiting class as first-years Micah Boone (Pike Road, Ala.), Jake Jones (Weston, Conn.) and Luke Wagner (Austin, Texas) will be joining the team for the 2020-21 season.
