Men's Basketball Lands Five on NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

Westwood, Mass. (June 24) -- A league-leading five members of the MIT men's basketball team have been named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference Team. Overall, 21 men's basketball student-athletes were honored across the conference.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale of 4.35 on a 5.0 scale after the 2021 spring semester, achieved second-year academic status at their institution and have been a member of the team for the entire semester.

Julian Manyika (San Francisco, Calif.)
Matas Masys (Oakbrooke Terrace, Ill.)
Dan Pilsbury (Millington, N.J.)
Brendt Stephens (Troy, Mich.)

This marks the second time that Pilsbury has been named to the Academic All-Conference Team, while the other four are being honored for the first time in their careers.
