  • Men’s Swimming and Diving Earns CSCAA and NEWMAC Academic Accolades

    For the second straight semester, the MIT men’s swimming and diving team recorded the highest GPA across all three NCAA divisions as announced by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The Engineers earned top CSCAA Scholar All-America Team honors with a 3.90 GPA on a 4.0 scale at the conclusion of the 2021 spring semester. In addition, MIT saw a program-record and a league-high 20 student-athletes earn a spot on the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team, eclipsing the previous mark of 17 that was established during the 2017-18 season.
  • Past and Present Engineers Bound for United States Olympic Trials

    Cambridge, Mass. (May 31) - Four student-athletes from the MIT men's and women's swimming and diving programs, both past and present, qualified for the 2020 United States Olympic Trials which were scheduled to take place from June 21-28 in Omaha, Nebraska. However, due to CoVID-19, these four student-athletes will have to wait until next summer to compete on the national stage. The Olympic Trials are now scheduled for June 4-7, 2021 at the Chi Health Center in Omaha.
  • Justin Liu Awarded NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

    Indianapolis, Ind. (May 28) – MIT men’s swimming and diving senior Justin Liu (Linwood, N.J.) has been awarded with the 2021 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. Liu will graduate from MIT with a degree in biological engineering and has been heavily involved both on the swim team and in the greater MIT community throughout his four years in Cambridge.

  • David He Selected to Serve on NCAA Division III National SAAC

    Cambridge, Mass. (February 17) -- MIT swimming and diving junior David He (South Setauket, N.Y.) was recently selected to serve a two-year term on the NCAA Division III National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), as announced by the NCAA office and the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). His term will run from January 2021 through January 2023. As stated in the Division III Partner-Conference SAAC structure, He will also be the primary representative of the NEWMAC's partner league in the committee, the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and will work with the NESCAC-appointed associate representative.

    Cambridge, Mass. (January 21) - The MIT men's swimming and diving team was honored with the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team Award as the Engineers posted the highest GPA across all NCAA Division I, II and III programs this fall.
