What do you like to do for fun when you aren't coaching?

I enjoy exploring the White Mountains of New Hampshire… finding new waterfalls, hiking a new mountain top, swimming in a new lake. When my body lets me I still like to play beach volleyball whenever I can.

What has your experience been like at Beantown Volleyball club and at Newton South?

Over the past 21 years Newton South has provided me with so many resource to grow professionally as a teacher and coach. Our Wellness department continues to evolve to stay current with the needs of our community. Athletically I was able to work with some amazing teams that competed at the State and National levels. Beantown Volleyball Club provided me with a unique opportunity to help students throughout New England grow through the sport of Volleyball. It was an honor to work with and learn from some of the best coaches in area.

What is your favorite professional sports team?

It's tough to pick between the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, and Patriots. But I would have to say the Patriots. When I was a kid the team struggled and the games weren't on TV that often. To watch Coach Belichick build a dynasty in New England has been amazing!

What is your favorite quote?

"We must believe in ourselves or no one else will believe in us; we must match our aspirations with competence and, courage, and determination to succeed."  - Rosalyn Yalow

What sports did you play growing up?

Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, and Track & Field. I wasn't very good early on but I worked hard and improved a lot. Thankfully I grew and was able to compete at the collegiate level.

If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world where would it be?

The Maldives – I love warm clear blue water!

If you weren't coaching/teaching what kind of career would you have liked?

CSI agent… I love solving things based on evidence.

What is your favorite sport to watch on TV?

Football … it is an amazing chess match (offense, defense, special teams) when coached a high level. P.S. When I watch in person I lose track of the ball.
