Men’s Volleyball Receives UVC Academic Accolades

Cambridge, Mass. (June 30) – Eight student-athletes represented the MIT men's volleyball team on the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) All-Academic List. In addition, the Engineers were recognized as a UVC All-Academic Team, marking the seventh straight year they have received this award.

The Academic List is comprised of student-athletes who have a minimum GPA of 3.30 (on a 4.00 scale), a 4.10 (on a 5.00 scale), or an 82 (on a 100-point scale) during the spring semester, must be at least a sophomore academically, display positive conduct on and off campus, and be enrolled full-time at the member institution.

Rising seniors Bradley Albright (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) and Steven Serrano (Oak Lawn, Ill.) collected their third award while rising senior Tommy Ogeka (Manorville, N.Y.) was a repeat honoree. Rising juniors Brady Darby (Rochester, N.Y.), Seth Fine (Allentown, Pa.), Justin Li (Fremont, Calif.), Albert Luo (Dallas, Texas), and Dylan Ryan (Oviedo, Fla.) made the list for the first time.

To be considered for the UVC All-Academic Team, programs must register a team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2021 spring semester. MIT led the way with a 3.73 mark on a 4.0 scale.
