Men's Cross Country Places Six on NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

Westwood, Mass. (March 9) -- As announced by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), six members of the MIT men's cross country program have been named to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team. Overall, 36 student-athletes were honored across the league institutions for men's cross country.

Seniors Dylan Doblar (Los Gatos, Calif.) and Finn Jacobson-Schulte (Lakeville, Minn.) are being recognized for the third straight season with Academic All-Conference accolades, while sophomores Sam Acquaviva (Newburyport, Mass.), Lowell Hensgen (Raleigh, N.C.), Vedang Lad (Plainsboro, N.J.) and Sanjay Raman (Redmond, Wash.) are being honored for the first time in their careers.

Out of the six MIT honorees, Doblar, Jacobson-Schulte and Raman also have a perfect 5.0 GPA on MIT's 5.0 grading scale.

To be eligible for the Academic All-Conference Team in 2020-21, student-athletes must have been a member of their team for the entire semester, reached second-year academic status at their institution and have a cumulative GPA of a 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
