Epee Team Powers Women's Fencing to a 4-2 Ledger in NFC Competition

- The Lead: Fueled by a 41-13 epee performance, the MIT women's fencing team produced a 4-2 record at its final Northeast Fencing Conference competition of the season on Sunday. The Engineers defeated Vassar College (17-10), non-conference opponent University of Florida (21-6), Tufts University (16-11), and Dartmouth College (17-10) but fell to Brown University (17-10) and host Boston College (18-9). Junior Helen Sakharova (Ridgewood, N.J.) won 17 of her 18 epee bouts while freshman Shiaoching Tse (Apex, N.C.) generated a 14-3 foil record. Freshman Thérèse Mills (Medford, N.J.) powered the sabre contingent with a tally of 11-7.
